Yarnalong: Scoop & Bakua

Knitting: Dave Socks by Rachel Coopy in Socks Yeah! and Bakau by Asa Tricosa in Knitsch Sock Yarn

While still carrying on with the Dave socks, I’m trying to do a little bit every day on my Bakua shawl. The long lace rows are very meditative – 28 stitch repeats with very few plain stitches don’t really leave room for thinking about much else – and then the long purl rows allow time to think.

Reading: Scoop by Evelyn Waugh

I’m still reading Scoop. I find I have to be in just the right mood, otherwise I want to throw it down in disgust at the characters who seem quite useless at everything and just have stuff happen to them. Which is usually how Waugh books are, but this one seems particularly so.

I’m also playing racist term bingo, due to the period it was written in and the main characters being Englishmen in Africa. I’d list the ones I’ve had so far, but I’d end up offending someone.

See what everyone else is knitting/reading/listening to over on the original Yarnalong.
