Yarnalong: Yummy Mummy & Plants

IMG_7481The Yarnalong is a great encouragement to read more – mainly because I don’t want to post about the same book too many weeks in a row!

Knitting: Yummy Mummy Wristwarmers by Alexandra Brinck in Paton’s Dreamtime

These are a thank you present for a friend who’s going to pick me up from the airport at six-thirty in the morning.

I’ve made the Yummy Mummy Wristwarmers before – it’s a great little pattern with enough variation to keep me interested. The pattern finishes with ‘Ta-da!’ So cute. I am wishing I’d knit them on a slightly larger needle, but they’ll still be good.

Reading: Plants: From Roots to Riches by Kathy Willis and Carolyn Fry

The great book cull for moving was hard and this book just missed out on a spot in a box. I’m trying to read it before I move back.

It looks at the development of the science of botany. As it’s published by Kew Gardens (and BBC Radio 4), I’m guessing they’ll give themselves plenty of credit along the way! I’ve only read the preface so far, and so far, so good.

See what everyone else is knitting/reading/listening to over on the original Yarnalong.
