Late again. Maybe I’ll just be the blogger who posts Yarnalongs on Thursdays. At least this week I have a good excuse – I moved countries at the weekend! I’m now back in my homeland, the beautiful New Zealand.
Knitting: Louise by Zloty in Paton’s Dreamtime
I was just about to finish the second Yummy Mummy Wristwarmer when I realised had the pattern wrong – I’d put the slipped stitches on the outside of the small cables instead of between the small and bag cables.
I was reasonably ticked at myself.
But then it all worked out for the best – when I arrived in Wellington, my friend I was knitting for announced she was pregnant! So the wristwarmers were ripped back and I’m knitting up the yarn as the Louise singlet. This pattern has been in my favourites for ages and I’m never got around to knitting it.
Knitting: Baby Girl Fair Isle by Purl Soho in Paton’s Dreamtime
I’ve been working on this for a while. I’m sizing up the pattern and working it top-down, not bottom-up, so it’s been a bit of brain-gymnastics. I’ll write a proper post about the process when it’s all done.
Reading: Plants: From Roots to Riches by Kathy Willis and Carolyn Fry
I’ve been keeping up my goal of reading at least five pages of this a day and am now cruising through it. It’s enjoyable, even if I spot the odd historic mistake here and there.
See what everyone else is knitting/reading/listening to over on the original Yarnalong.
