This week’s theme: alcohol and children’s books are the best.
Knitting: Belmont Cardigan by Gudrun Johnston in Wendy Dennis Polworth/Silk 4ply
Yip, still going.
The right shoulder took four attempts and a large bottle of imperial porter to get right, but hey, I got there in the end. (The porter was Keruru Imperil Nibs. If you’re in New Zealand, you should try some, it is delicious and will give you magical knitting powers.)
I’m also working on my first #stalkerknits cardigan, but more on that later.
Reading: Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix by J.K Rowling
When I finished The Goblet of Fire I told myself I would not be reading the next book, because Harry Potter turns into a whiney little prat…..and the next thing I know, I’m reading this. C’est la vie.
So instead of talking about the book, I’m going to recommend three interesting links:
- A whistle stop of migration in museums and galleries around the world
- How Do You Tell the Story of Black American in One Museum?
- Behind the Scenes of Hail, Caesar! Perming Josh Brolin and Making Scarlett Johansson a Modery-Day Ester Williams
See what everyone else is knitting and reading over on the original Yarnalong.
The woman who taught me to knit recommended drinking wine in the beginning to help keep your stitches loose. Ten years later, I still follow her advice. 🙂
That’s brilliant!
