Mid-semester break! Sunshine! Only one essay to work on! All the exclamation marks!
Knitting: Quicksilver by Melanie Berg in Habu Textiles XS-45 20/3 Bamboo
With my How Cold is It? mitts (NSFW) finished and off in the post as a super-surprise gift, I returned to my Quicksilver shawl, which I’ve decided I don’t dislike.
There’s a lot to like. First, I’m stash-busting. This yarn was purchased in London year before last and I was originally going to make a jumper out of it, but, well, two-ply plus a larger size….nope. Doubling it. Second, I’ve always wanted to knit a Melanie Berg shawl and now I am. It’s going to be super-drapey and a little bit glamorous…I hope.

Right, I’m going to use the magic of Yarnalong to start and finish a book. I’ve had this book out from the library for three weeks and haven’t managed to crack the covers. So, I shall declare here that I will read it and to avoid admitting defeat next Wednesday, I shall read one chapter a night.
See what everyone else is knitting and reading over on the original Yarnalong.
Eep I’ve got a couple of library books to whizz through too, I can’t put down my current read though! Love the shawl, the different textures look pretty 🙂
