Knitting: Dave socks by Rachel Coopey in Patons Patonyle
Yip, Dave socks again. It’s a good pattern. I’ve accidentally altered them – I did a 1×1 twisted rib instead of 2×2 because I thought I knew the pattern better than I did. No biggie.
Also, how bright is that yellow?
Reading: The Big Smoke New Zealand Cities, 1840–1920 by Ben Schrader
This is both school and pleasure – Ben is a great writer and easy to read. It’s also about bloody time we had an urban history in New Zealand, so it’s all good news.
See what everyone else is knitting and reading over on the original Yarnalong.
Those are some highlighter socks! Wow! 🙂
Oh, wow! This yellow is mind-blowing! I’ve never knit witch such bright yarn, I am too addicted to neutrals, but I love looking at other projects knit in colors! They definitely have a character!
I have a similar shocking yellow in my stash … socks are genious! I tried to pair it with a turquoise in a shawl but it was too much … socks may be a perfect way to use it!
I had yarn that color that I turned into a safety vest and hat for a friend’s new baby. The friend is an aviation engineer who is a colleague of my husband. I called it highlighter yellow.
I call that colour Fluoro Yellow. Perfect for socks!
Wow, such vibrant color! Your socks will be really eye-catching.
