Up until last night, I was still working on my ‘Hap for Harriet’. Then I realised I was only halfway through and Sharon was finished, so I would take a break.
I started knitting Waits while I was waiting (geddit?) for our Harriet knitalong to start. It is a cardigan by the massively talented Bristol Ivy with a very interesting construction. The front band is knit first and then the raglan top and fronts are knit all at the same time.
The Superfine Merino is both lovely and infuriating. There are two breaks in every ball and the balls collapse as soon as you look at them. But it is so soft and drapey and squishy.

How am I still reading this? It’s not that I’m not enjoying it, although the Eurocentricism of it is getting to me a little bit. On at least three occasions, the author has remarked that a non-European theory or practice has ‘echoed’ something from the Bible – even if the non-Bible thing happened first.
But that gripe aside, I am enjoying it, I just haven’t been picking it up. So I’m going to challenge myself to read at least two chapters a day – because I am not including this in next week’s knitalong!
See what everyone else is knitting and reading over on the original Yarnalong.
