Knitting: Waits by Bristol Ivy in Cleckheaton Superfine Merino
I am absolutely churning through Waits helped by watching all of The Night Manager over the weekend and through using it as a bribe to keep studying. I have a Google Chrome extension called ‘Strict Workflow’ which cuts off access to all fun websites for 25 minutes and then gives you five minutes has a reward – except I’ve been knitting instead. I swear I’ve been more productive.
On a less happy note, I think I’m going to run out of yarn and have to do short sleeves. I would have had enough, but I rewound all the yarn at the weekend and discovered one ball had six (SIX!) breaks in it and another ball was spun so tightly to be almost a different yarn. Grrrrrr.
Reading: The Sword in the Stone by T H White
I picked this up yesterday at one of Wellington’s many good secondhand books stores after deciding I really don’t like giving Amazon money. I remember reading about it on someone’s Yarnalong post, but can’t for the life of me remember who.
See what everyone else is knitting and reading over on the original Yarnalong.
I LOVE second hand book stores/thrift stores/salvation army. It’s not fun throwing money at Amazon, plus the price tag is much cheaper.
I loved The Night Manager! It’s addictive, isn’t it?! I’ve never actually read the Sword and the Stone, I’ve just seen the Disney movie. Maybe I should read the book!
Your cardigan looks so lovely – definitely a wardrobe staple!
So frustrating about the yarn! It’s good that you can adjust.
I love second hand book shops and Aurhurian legends. One whole shelf in my bookcase is dedicated to Arthur & his buddies. I might be just a tad bit obsessed. 🙂
Your sweater is beautiful & the pink strings look great with the gray. Could you knit the sleeves longer with a different color yarn?
That yarn would have had me seeing red!
The Night Manager was great! I watched it as it was broadcast and had to wait for episodes; I might need to rewatch it for the simple thrill of seeing them all at once/at my leisure.
