FO: Maker’s Tote

It feels like forever and a day since I’ve finished something – or at least something I can share!

Pattern: Noodlehead’s Maker’s Tote
Fabrics & Notions: Spotlight
Alterations: I didn’t make very many alterations on purpose, but some from misreading the pattern. Mostly I followed the pattern.

What I wish I’d done differently:
I omitted the recommended ‘ByAnnie’s Soft and Stable’ and now the bag is a little floppy. Should still do the job.
The stitching that comes through to the outer from sewing on the zip – I really wish that was straight. I still might unpick it and sew everything back on by hand.

Does it work?
So far, so good. Took it for a test run into town. I would prefer a bag I can sling over my shoulder, but I’m get the hang of the elbow-hang technique.

What I wish I’d known before I started:
How big it is! I know this sounds silly, because the finished measurements are on the pattern, but I just didn’t process that somehow. I should have checked out more finished projects on Instagram.

It’s huge! Seriously, you can fit a jumper, a couple of books and a couple of knitting projects in here. The pockets along both sides make it easy to find stuff.
